Supply Chain & Dependency Risk Control

Price

$20

Duration

4 Hours

About the Course

This course provides the methodologies and strategic frameworks necessary to move beyond simple supplier management to a holistic, end-to-end control of all critical business dependencies. It addresses the systemic risks inherent in modern, interconnected supply chains, focusing on dependencies that, if compromised or disrupted, could cause catastrophic operational failure or financial loss.

Purpose of the course

The main purpose of this course is to empower you to build a highly resilient, monitored and strategically diversified supply chain, capable of absorbing shocks and ensuring continuity of operations.

Upon completion, you will be able to:

Systematically Identify Hidden Risks:

Map and analyse all critical business dependencies, revealing hidden single points of failure deep within the supply chain and supporting infrastructure.

Quantify and Prioritise Dependency Risk

Apply financial and operational modelling to determine the maximum probable loss from key supplier/dependency failures, driving risk-based mitigation spending.

Implement Robust Mitigation

Design and deploy multi-tiered resilience strategies, including smart inventory policies, localised sourcing and contingency contracts.

Establish Continuous Control

Set up real-time monitoring and governance frameworks to proactively manage the health and stability of the entire dependency ecosystem.

The curriculum covers the full lifecycle of dependency risk, including:

Deep-Tier Mapping and Visibility

Techniques for mapping not just immediate (Tier 1) suppliers, but also critical sub-suppliers (Tier 2, 3, and beyond) and non-traditional dependencies like software services, critical infrastructure (power, water, connectivity) and regulatory bodies.

Single Point of Failure (SPOF) Analysis

Advanced diagnostics to identify and quantify the risk of relying on a sole source for a critical component, service, or resource.

Resilience Strategy Design

Developing mitigation strategies such as geographic diversification, dual-sourcing models, 'virtual inventory' strategies and designing products/services with modular, interchangeable components.

Dependency Auditing and Monitoring

Establishing continuous, data-driven processes for real-time monitoring of supplier financial health and compliance.

On completion of the course, the goal is to transform the supply chain from a vulnerability to a competitive advantage by embedding resilience into procurement, logistics, and partner management.
